Great villa for 2 people, traditional and spacious with beautiful views. Garden very private with lovely views over the Val de Chiana and towards Montepulciano and Monte Amiata. Luciano the owner was very pleasant and helpful.. His handyman Felice was a joy to meet each morning with boundless energy in his 9th decade - a tribute to the Mediterranean diet some of which he shared with us, bringing us home-grown fruit and veg on several occasions, a wonderful treat!
Nearest larger town , Cortona. Also enjoyed Lucignano. Owner of the nearest shop to the villa, (La Bottega delle Chianacce), made and froze her own classic Tuscan ragu pork and veal sauce which was superb. She also sold the local fresh picci which took the ragu sauce superbly. Also loved the Chianina T-bone steak which we bought from Consorzio Agrari D’Italia in Bettole. Tenuta La Braccesca winery (17 minute drive!)is a must, tasting and excellent wine to buy at a very reasonable price . Hidden gem of the trip - Lampreghiotto Street Food Toscano just near to the Consorzio in Bettole (above) in a wooded carpark area adjacent to Hotel Apogeo.
Thank you for your lovely review 5* review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful views across the Val di Chiana. It is wonderful to hear that Luciano and Felice helped make your time at the villa so special, and that you enjoyed the fresh produce from the garden. We will be sure to pass on your kind words to them. We hope to welcome you back to Tuscany soon!
